"There is a constant ebb and flow that happens throughout each year and the wave of each year takes its own course. When you add teenagers to that ebb and flow, it can quickly feel more like white caps are surrounding you. This can be how our leaders and staff feel when one of our students goes through a break up or gets picked on or kicked out of a group because of an action that they may or may not have done.
In Young Life, we don't run for the hills when things get messy; but instead, we aim into the storm and respond how Jesus would. We aim to speak to the storms of kids' lives the same way Jesus did when he spoke to the winds and the waves and said,"Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. Mark 4:39
A few weeks ago at our dodgeball tournament, it was exciting to see how the Lord used Dodgeball to rally a group of freshman boys together to upset the odds against the older Marksmen and also against their peers at ESD. I believe that for many in the midst of the storm that Jesus used Dodgeball to speak calmness and restore laughter over the chaotic situations of many of our high school friends’ lives.
Praise God for Dodgeball
